The highest road in Europe is 27 km long and crosses the Rochemolles Valley from 1300 m in Bardonecchia to 3009 m at the Sommeiller Col. The valley is dominated by magnificent mountains and spectacular views.

REGULATION OF MOTORISED VEHICLES SUMMER 2025
The road from the village of Rochemolles to the Colle del Sommeiller:
- from 1st December to 30th April closed to motorised vehicles;
- from 01/05 to 30/06 and from 01/10 to 30/11 always OPEN if road surface conditions permit
- from 01/07 to 30/09 CLOSED every TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS and on the remaining days from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. transit with a toll of € 8.00 (CASH ONLY) per vehicle to be paid at the little house along the road just upstream of the Rochemolles village.
