The highest drivable road in Europe is the Colle del Sommeiller road
La route, la plus haute d’Europe, mesure 26 km de long et traverse toute la vallée de Rochemolles, allant de 1 300 mètres à Bardonecchia jusqu’à 3 009 mètres au Col du Sommeiller. La vallée est dominée par de majestueuses montagnes et offre des panoramas uniques.

REGULATION OF MOTORISED VEHICLES SUMMER 2024
The road from the village of Rochemolles to the Sommeiller Pass:
- from 1st December to 30th April closed to motorised vehicles;
- from 01/05 to 30/06 and from 01/10 to 30/11 always OPEN if road surface conditions permit
- from 01/07 to 30/09 CLOSED every THURSDAY and on the remaining days from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. transit with a toll of € 8.00 (CASH ONLY) per vehicle to be paid at the little house along the road just upstream of the Rochemolles village
